What is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy focuses on restoring movement, strength and reducing pain in musculoskeletal problems or post-surgery. Our experienced physiotherapists have knowledge of a wide variety of treatment options.
If you've never been for a physiotherapy appointment before, please see more information on what to expect from your consultation. The NHS Choices Health A-Z is useful for general information on how to treat sprains or manage other conditions such as back pain.

We ask you to understand that:
- It is important to keep your appointment. If you need to cancel an appointment, please give us as much notice as possible. This will also enable us to offer your appointment slot to another patient.
- Failure to attend or late notice of cancellations increases our waiting times considerably and may lead to you being discharged in accordance with our access policy. Our policy states that a missed appointment with no prior warning will result in the patient being discharged from the service.
- Occasionally we have trouble contacting you if you have call barring at home. If we are due to phone you, please inform us if you have phone barring, so you can add the service number to your preferred list.
